Elementary

Nova Choirs

Grades K–5

A welcoming first taste of choir.

What to Expect
  • Simple, familiar songs - Twinkle, Twinkle and Happy Birthday
  • Up to 30 seconds of a song of your choice (completely optional)
  • Pitch matching exercises
  • About 10 minutes total
Why simple songs? We want to hear your child's natural voice. No prior experience needed.

Grades 6–8

Growing through change, together.

What to Expect
  • Short song you know well—any genre
  • Vocal range evaluation
  • Pitch matching (tonal memory)
  • Video auditions available
Voice changing? Our conductors specialize in supporting singers through it. It's part of the work.
Pacific Choir high school singers
High School

Pacific Choir

Grades 9–12

Artistry and leadership for high schoolers.

What to Expect
  • Solo piece—any genre welcome
  • Vocal range evaluation
  • Tonal memory exercises
  • Sight-reading for experienced singers
  • Video auditions available
No choir experience? That's expected and welcome. We'll meet you where you are.

Chamber Choir

Sophomore HS – Age 24

Our select mixed-age ensemble.

What to Expect
  • Solo piece showcasing musicality and range
  • Sight-reading and tonal memory
  • Vocal range and timbre evaluation
  • Brief conversation about your singing background
Who Chamber serves: advanced HS singers (sophomore+), college students, gap-year singers, young adults, and PYC alumni. High school singers must be concurrently enrolled in Pacific as well. Learn more about Chamber →

Auditions for next season

Grades K–5 · Nova

Plan on one of these days. If neither works, we can still audition your singer through the first two weeks of the term.

Grades 6–12 & Chamber

Rolling auditions year-round. These days are the simplest way in — but if the timing doesn't work, reach out and we'll find you a slot.

PYC welcomes singers from kindergarten through age 24.

Used for direct communication once enrolled. For minors, we'll primarily contact the parent.

About the audition

Chamber Choir auditions are in-person only.

No prior choir experience?

That's expected and welcome at every level—we'll meet your singer where they are.

Balancing other activities?

Many of our singers also do sports, theater, and school music. We support those rhythms.

Practice expectations?

Regular attendance and some at-home practice. We help families learn the rhythm.
