Join Pacific Youth Choir
PYC welcomes K-12th grade singers who love to sing and have an interest in developing their voice and choral artistry. Our welcoming audition process helps us ensure singers will thrive in our program.
Simple Audition Process
Kindergarten - 5th Grade
Prepare a simple song (like "Twinkle Twinkle" or "Happy Birthday")
Short vocal exercises with the director

👥 In-person auditions only
6th - 8th Grade
Prepare a song that showcases your range (without accompaniment)
Basic musicianship assessment

Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals are held Sunday evenings at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 147 NW 19th Avenue, corner of NW Everett St. in Portland.
Nova 1: 1:00-1:50 PM
Nova II : 2:00-3 PM
Cascadia: 3-4:10 PM
Rogue: 4:15-5 PM
Rapids: 4:15-5 PM
Coro Pacifica: 5:15-6:30 PM
Tsunami: 5:15-6:30 PM
Pacific: 6:30-7:45 PM
Chamber: 7:45-8:30 PM
Choir starts the weekend after Labor Day and runs through the end of May.
Annual Fees (2024-2025)
Registration
Singer Registration Fee: $125
The annual registration fee is required for all singers.
Tuition
High School: $1,263 ($760 for January start)
Chamber Choir: $300 ($180 for January start)
Admitted high school singers are auditioned for this select group after the season begins.
Middle School: $987 ($595 for January start)
K - 5th Grade: $701 ($425 for January start)
Tuition subsidizes PYC administration and operations. All tuition payments are due by the start of the season.
We believe that all students should have the opportunity to participate and grow through the enriching experience of choral music, regardless of financial circumstances. Families often face difficult choices when budgeting for extracurricular activities, and that is why we are committed to providing need-based tuition assistance to those who require support.

Can my child participate in other activities?
Yes! Many of our singers balance PYC with sports, theater, and other activities.
What if my child has no prior experience?
We welcome all experience levels and provide the support needed to develop their voice.
How do you handle changing voices?
Our conductors are specially trained to support singers through vocal changes.
What are the family expectations?
Regular attendance and some home practice.
